Posterior Ligamentous Injuries
- limited capacity for healing & if diagnosed need to be immobilized in hyperextension & if instability is diagnosed will require fusion
Wedge Compression Fractures
- immobilize in extension
- beaware that there may be posterior ligament insufficiency
Distraction – Shear Fracture Dislocation Facet Dislocation
- unilateral should come easily with traction
- bilateral should also come easily with traction
- if traction not working go to an open reduction
