Typical Features

  • Most often second toe
  • History of foot pain & ↓ ROM
  • Tenderness to palpation

Xray

  • Physis open – irregular & collapsed
  • Physis closed – head enlarged, flat & irregular

Treatment

  • Nonoperative
    • via footwear modification including a metatarsal bar
  • Operative
    • rarely performed & includes debridement
