ORIF & Cancellous BG (Matti-Russe)

  • as for volar ORIF
  • use burr of curettes to
    • freshen ends
    • curette bone cyst gelatinous material
    • fashion rectangular trough
  • Cut cortico-cancellous graft to fit & jam graft in trough & fill remaining defect with cancellous chips
    • Should be able to withstand wast
  • Test stability of fracture site
    • If stable, only graft is needed & not accutrax screw
    • ± K wire or Herberts screw fixation
  • Postop
    • Backslab for 6/52
    • r/v 6/52 with XR
    • CT scan at 3/12 if necessary
