FRACS Orthopaedic Exams


A 26 year oldfemale presents with groin & anterior thigh pain of the right leg. The only past history is of an appendicectomy as a teenager. Examination demonstrates she is febrile (38.1), the hip won'tfully extend, and she has a fullness on the right side of the pelvis. CT scan demonstrates a loculated mass within psoas.

  1. Discuss the dffirential diagnosis
  2. Are there any additional investigations required?
  3. Describe your management plan.
